Most damage claims start the same way: something went on the truck unprotected because it was quicker. That is the corner we do not cut.

- Strapped, not stacked and hopedThe load is built in tiers and tied off to the rails so it cannot shift in traffic.

Same shirts, same trucks, same crew at both ends of the job — including when your things go into storage in between. That continuity is the whole reason nothing gets lost, and it is the one thing a national brand physically cannot offer you.

Why the cheapest
quote wins twice.
Once when you book it, and once on moving day when the number changes. Here is what the low quote usually leaves out, and what ours does not.

How far in advance should I schedule my move?
As early as you can. Booking a few weeks out secures your preferred date, especially at the end of the month when everyone moves at once. That said, we keep room for same-day and next-day jobs, so call us even if it is short notice.
What is included in a local or residential move?
Protection, loading, transport, unloading and placement. We bring blankets, shrink wrap, straps, dollies and floor runners, wrap every piece of furniture before it leaves the room, and put it where you want it at the other end.
Do you bring boxes and packing materials?
Yes. Blankets, shrink wrap, tape, straps, dollies and floor runners come with the crew at no extra charge. Boxes, wardrobe boxes, mirror packs and dish barrels can be supplied if you need them — tell us in the form and we will bring them.
How do you handle office and commercial moves?
We plan around your downtime, not ours. Furniture, equipment and files are labeled and moved in a set order, and we can work evenings or weekends so your business is open the next morning.
What are the options for storage?
Short term between closings, or long term while you decide. Everything goes into storage wrapped the same way it left your home, and we bring it back out when you are ready.
Can you move a piano, a safe or a pool table?
Yes, and we would rather know about it when you book so we send the right crew and equipment. Tell us the item, the floor it is on and whether there is an elevator.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Smooth Moving & Storage is a fully licensed and insured moving company operating under USDOT 327574. You can look the number up yourself on the FMCSA register — the link is in the band near the top of this page.
How soon will I get my quote?
